Curcumin

Dr. Bradley Elliott, Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, lent his academic expertise to comment for BBC London News on the anti-inflammatory effects of curcumin, found in the spice turmeric.

Curcumin has been surrounded by widespread debate around its effects and Dr. Elliott summarised what current research conducted at the University and elsewhere says about the substance.

He said: “We are seeing reduced inflammation and reduced proliferation of cancer cells in vitro but there is a big step between that and seeing a clinical effect, in the human body, which is what we are trying to do in the moment.”  Click Here
